My friends call me Breakfast Face. I dunno why. And I'mma do my first guest spot here on "The Nan Stop." She asked me ta say a lil biddabout myself. I'mma be honest, here. I'mma lil nervous. We had a dinner meetin' the udder night wit all the guest write-uhs, and some of the udder guest write-uhs seem a lil, I dunno, a lil serious, maybe. But I'm here ta keep it real. That's why Nan says she brought me on the team. Uh, I'm from Rhode Island, born and raised. I went to Brown. Don't be surprised by that, because quite frankly, it hurts my feelins when peoples act suh-prised. Uh, I got one sista. Her name is Faith-Marie and she ain't on the market. She's a real classy lady and found herself a real nice husband. He's a doc-tuh. He works with ladies, ya know... he goes un-duh the hood and looks at their parts. We call him a Lady Mechanic, if you get what I'm sayin'. I also got 8 bruddas: Joey, Jimmy, Tommy, Romaine, Earl, Luigi, Patty and Fritz. Fritz is actually Faith-Marie's twin brudda, but they don't really got on so well. I don't wanna tawk about it. My writin' interests are basically, uh, food. Breakfast is my personal favorite, but I enjoy a nice lunch and din-nuh, too. But I'm here to, you know, expand my horizons.... write about all sortsa shit. Oh, excuse me. Nania has asked me to be myself, but maybe "tone down" the language... unless it's totally necessary for artistic expression purposes. So sorry. Anyway, Nania has put me on "Open Assignment." Here's my first one.
In Nania's apaaatment, Sundays are for housekeepin'. She means dis in more way than one. She cleans. Usually da bat-troom. Da kitchen. You know. She does some laundry. But she also likes to take care of business mat-tuhs. Bill pay. Email. Organization of the stuff that builds up durin' da week. That's what she's doin' right now. So in the mean time, in the theme of "houses," it would be my deep pleas-uh to walk you around and give you a tooour. Come on now. Follow me.
Here's the livin' room:
Her couch was furnished by Art Van Clearance Cen-tuh. Cawf-fee Table with wobbly legs by IKEA. (I off-uhed to help her build it, but she had real strong feelins about doin' it herself. She likes that female independence stuff, and I support huh in dat.) Oh, in case you're wonderin' about the paintin', she ordered that on the intuh-net. It's cawled "Lady in a Red Dress."
Kitchen: My personal favorite room. This is where I rest my head.

I wanted to point out the pic-chuhs on the fridge and coun-tuh. Nania is real in-tuh huh friends and family. Loves dem. She tells stories about dem awl the time and likes to look at their faces owf-ten.
I'm sure many of you are featured here (and throughout the apaaatment.) Here are some captions on just a few of dem:
Lindsay Medwed & Alyx Voytilla: On the docks in Surf City. Dees gurls are real pretty. Pretty in da City. I find Lindsay's eyes to be very mesmerizing. I might have a lil crush her, but she's married to a very nice man. Alyx is also lovely, takes great self-portraits wit Nania's camera. Several of 'em. Also very "crush-worthy" as the kids are sayin' dees days, but once again, just got hitched.
Bobby Ricketts & Phil East-uh: Nania cawls this pic-shuh, "Navy and White-striped Bromantic Coincidence." Bobby is a doc-tuh and a very burly man. Very masculine, lotsa hair all ovah. But sensitive at the same time. Phil is research-uh. He does brain-research-stuff. Very highbrow. Nania would like me to dedicate this house post to Phillip, because he very graciously helped Nania and her fiance Aaron move furniture into this lovely abode. Treee flights-uh stairs, people. No eleva-tuh or nuthin.
Bin, Hee, & Jeewon Lee: Enjoyin' Eunia's lovely wedding. Bin & Hee are sistuhs and friends from Nania's childhood. The Pas-tuh's kids at her old church. Jeewon is a friend Nania met true her sistuh, Eunia. Very nice. Smaart. English-maj-uh. You know Nania likes dat. (Oh, Eunia is Nania's big sis-tuh. Real nice lady. Very care-ing. She just celebrated her first anniversary wid-huh husband, Han. Congratulations. You can see a pic-shuh of huh on the coun-tuh.)
Chris Sank-uh & Ben Callam: Photo Corner at the Finneman/Callam wedding -- very nice couple. Real nice to tawk to. Always very encouraging of Nania's writing. Real interesting people, too. And Chris is a dentist and is currently studying to be an oral surgeon. Real smaaat in the head.
Sarah Markel, Dana Hawl, & Lindsey Rhodes: On the streets of New Yorwk. Also some very pretty gurls. Love 'em. I may have pursued a relationship wid one-uh dem. But it didn't really work. I don't wanna tawk about it.
Cindy Irani & Aaron PD: Photo Booth from the Park-Irani Wedding. Cindy is Nania's best friend. A pretty hot lil ticket, if I do say so myself. Real smaaat, too. Lotsa voluminous hair. Aaron is Nania's man. Real real good man. They are engaged to get married and... oh gee, I'm gettin' choked up here. I'll just say, she is very happy, and I am very happy for huh. And although I do not hold romantic feelins toward ud-duh men, I will say, he is a very attractive man.
Alyx Ackerfeld-Voytilla, Mona Faddah-Salama, & Emily Spang-Cochran wedding magnets and announcements: All very lovely couples. Alyx is a friend from grad school and she looked like a real princess at huh wedding. Mona is a for-muh co-wor-kuh and good friend from Nania's time at GW Hospitul. They are speech pat-tologists. I don't really know what dat entails exactly. She and her husband Tarik did some very sexy dancing at their wedding. Emily - a much beloved roommate from Kalamazoo. A very classy broad. Could be a model cause she's so pretty, but works as a very important puh-son at a very important financial institution instead.
And of course.... Maria: That's Nania's much much loved mom. Pic-shuhed here wid huh dauwt-uh at her Kalamazoo College graduation, and at Eunia's wedding. Maria is just a peach. Brimmin' o-vuh with love. Fantastic cook. I would let her use my face as a tool in her cookin' anytime.
If your picture is not featured on da fridge... it may likely be in the dinin' room.
(And please note, Nania is dedicatin' the bottom door on her fridge to huh faithful read-uhs. So feel free to send along some pic-shuhs of your own selves.)
Dining Area:
Table + four chairs, purchased new at IKEA for the very reasonable price of just 79 dawl-luhs. Easy to put togedduh.
Tulip Painting is awlso by IKEA.
I've purposely left out da bat-troom because Nania is in der cleanin' it right nows.
That's mosta da house, though. Now here's some Blawg Housekeepin':
